Inspire 1 v2.0 vs Inspire 1 Pro
The Inspire 1 is the initial model of the DJI Inspire drone series. DJI no longer sells the Inspire 1 v2.0 nor the Inspire 1 Pro. Instead, the DJI Inspire 2, released in November 2016, is the most advanced drone in the Inspire series, boasting greater speed and longer flight time than its predecessor, as well as obstacle avoidance and compatibility with DJI Goggles.
The DJI Inspire 1 is arguably the finest prosumer/professional drone money can buy. The Inspire 1 comes equipped with cutting-edge satellite navigation, 4K video recording, and long-range video streaming. But with two versions, the entry-level v2.0 and the higher grade Pro, how does a person decide which is best for him or her? Let us explain. Inspire 1 BasicsThe Inspire 1 is a professional quadcopter that uses a detachable 4K video camera. It’s a step above DJI’s other popular drone, the Phantom 3, bearing more features and superior performance. The v2.0 is the base version of the Inspire 1. The Inspire 1 v2.0 and Pro sport retractable, carbon fiber legs; a 360⁰ camera and gimbal system; a Visual Positioning System (VPS) for indoor flight and maneuver; dual Global Positioning and GLObal NAvigation Satellite System (GPS and GLONASS); and live 720p HD video streaming from over 3 miles away. The Inspire 1 can fly up to about 16,000 ft. and 50 MPH.
Both versions of the Inspire 1 support multiple remotes: one for a pilot and the other for a videographer. Each comes stock with one remote, unless you buy an Inspire 1 essentials kit.
CameraThe biggest difference between the two comes down to cameras: The v2.0 comes with a Zenmuse X3, while the Pro comes with a Zenmuse X5. The X3 uses an F/2.8 iris, 20mm lens, and yields up to 2160p (4K) resolution. The X5 uses an adjustable (F/1.7-F/16) iris, 30mm lens, and yields 4K UHD resolution. The X5's adjustable aperture and added frame-rate option give the videographer more flexibility for getting the optimal shot. The real difference is in the inside the cameras. The DJI/Zenmuse X5 camera uses a micro-4/3 sensor, while the X3 uses a 1/2.3 sensor. Look at the chart above to illustrate the difference in scale. PriceThe other big difference between the two: Price. The v2.0 ranges from $3,099 by itself to $4,049 with the Upgrade Kit. The Pro starts at $4,499 and reaches $5,449 when bundled with the Upgrade Kit. Which is better for you?The Inspire 1 v2.0 is more than enough for most commercial applications. The X3 camera and gimbal provide ample quality for the majority of prosumer needs. The Inspire 1 Pro is really for the professional pilot/videographer who needs the absolute best video quality, especially when capturing fast-moving subjects. The X5's dynamic range, wide aperture for low-light situations insure you get silky smooth and rich footage.Drone World offers excellent deals on Inspire 1 v2.0 and Pro.
